Wildlife Crossings
In 2026, we helped pass millions of dollars in recurring state funding to design and construct wildlife crossings across North Carolina, which will help save both animal and human lives. NCPIRG Students and our friends at Environment North Carolina collected and delivered over 3,500 petition signatures since launching their campaign for more wildlife crossings in the summer of 2025. Break Free From Plastic
In 2020, we were a part of committing Durham Technical Community College to sign the Break Free From Plastic pledge making them the first community college in the country and the first school in NC to do so!
New Voters Project
Since 2020, our New Voters Project has helped over 4,000 students register to vote, and has reached over 200,000 students through our get-out-the vote efforts to turn out the youth vote! Our Democracy Protection Project also helped get voter registration at every first hall meeting in the dorms!
College Affordability
Our College Affordability Campaign was part of a national effort to convince our Congress to add $7 million into the federal budget to increase Open Textbook programs across the country! In partnership with the SGA Affordability Task Force, we are ending the semester with over 350 professors who have pledged to use low cost textbooks or other free reading materials.
